Snow, Snow, and More Snow...
First the kids had off on Monday... yeah, we got hit quite bad by that storm that came through then. 12 inches of snow on the ground, 2 inches of ice below that, and my wife and I woke up to lightning hitting a tree three houses away. (Gotta love Thundersnow though...).
But now mother nature is throwing another bucket on us... we had another 7 inches last night, and it is still coming down. So there is no school here again. And next week is spring break...
So I am not liking the weather right now. Ugh.
In other news, the gameshop we are playing Heroclix and Vs at is closing at the end of the month. This is really bad... first, the shop we played at for four years closed. We found another one, one that had been in business since the early 90's. And now they are shutting down. That's it, no more gameshops in town. The comic shop is too small... and the other one is run by a weirdo who none of us like.
So we are going to try to play at Borders... Considering everyone who plays is either a college student or a business professional, they should be okay. But if our curse persists, and we shut down borders... we have agreed we will then play at Walmart. If we can take down walmart then the world will be ours! (or not).

I drove to Rapids Monday and hit the storm around Waupaca - but it wasn't nearly that bad - not even an inch of snow. In Appleton we had a huge thunder/lightening storm Friday night - we haven't gotten any snow to stick though. They cancelled our snow warning for today - it snowed for maybe an hour, but again nothing is sticking! The worst part is the freezing rain below what little snow there is!
Good luck ruling the world :) Maybe I need to start gaming.
That's one of the worst things about Anchorage...no thunder/lightning. It "stormed" on my second night in the state -- barely anything, just a few bolts of lightning and some not-so-loud thunder, and everyone was all "Oh, wow, so cool!" Baffled, I inquired...and was informed that it never happens. Ever.
I'm going to miss summer storms SO much.
Jacob & I thought we were at war or something - it was thundering and lighning so much last weekend and we had no idea it was supposed to! Ella went to sleep, though, and never woke up even though the walls were shaking, almost!
All the excitement missed south east Michigan (like it always does).
Gaming at comic book stores, you're such a nerd :p
Not that I'm any better, if I could find a group, I'd love to be in an rpg. Not to mention my fanatical devotion to MST3K.
We were just so excited for the thunderstorm. We love storms, heck even Chloe wants to be outside during them.
As for gaming, the thing it helps the most with is keeping my mind sharp. Heroclix is a very strategic game, very chesslike. The only luck involved is in the roll of the dice. But my friends and I play a very "advanced" style, not so much "run and gun", but more setting traps, creating ambushes, and comboing actions.
Other gaming is fun, but some of it I just can't do. Card games are restricted to FMA and Vs - I just can't play magic. And role playing... I can't even "Super Hero" role play. If I want to role play, I will play CoH.
But, my distaste for roleplaying comes from the people at our shop that do it. Smelly, unwashed, acne ridden, rude, and way to much into it. Kinda distracts from the gaming.
